The article offers an overview of religious orientations of Christian and Muslim young people in comparison. The article is based on a quantitative questionnaire survey of young adults with and without migration background between 18 and 24 years (n=1090). Religious attitudes are correlated with demographic factors, the migration background, socio-economic and socio-cultural factors and, in particular, interreligious contacts and friendships. The religious orientation is recorded in detail not only through the attachment to religious communi-ties and the assessment of one's own religiosity, but also through religious experiences and convictions as well as consequences for one's lifestyle. In addition to belonging to certain religious communities, one's own immigration history, as well as gender, parental educational background and friendship relationships also have an influence on religious orientations.
