Religious education from a biographical perspective - an opening of fields for religious education

Seen from the perspective of both, Religious Pedagogy and staff flexible teaching Religious Education in schools, religious learning is to be understood as a lifelong process taking place at a range of different learning venues like family, parish, school and media. The paper looks into recent research concerning this idea and its realization in practice by carrying out a SWOT-analysis. Beyond that, it stresses the distinction between empirical research about life lines on the one hand and theological reflection on biography on the other hand.
