Volunteer work as place for informal learning is reflected, empirically based insights on learning outcomes of volunteers in church settings are offered, further research requirements are provided. Finally, the requirements for designing religious education settings for informal learning are outlined: there people learn autonomously, subject-oriented, voluntarily and autonomously and they decide what is important to learn for their engagement or their life and their faith.
