There is an ever-increasing basic tension between religious tradition and the world in which we live, which is taken up by religious didactics in models such as elementarization or correlation didactics. In a first step, the article analyses how this tense relationship is also relevant in current debates on religious education and didactics. In a second step, a structural model is presented in the horizon of interdisciplinary reflections on the subject matter and relevance of learning, which aims to make this basic tension of religious didactics more differentiated, perceptible and workable didactically. The model aims to contribute to the development and reflection of meaningful, relevant learning opportunities in religious education.
